More About Bridgeman Downs

Located approximately 12km north of Brisbane CBD, Bridgeman Downs was initially incorporated as an outlying section of Aspley and originally dedicated for use as farmland. Recognized as an official suburb in the 1970’s, Bridgeman Downs was named after Henry Bridgeman who settled the area north of Albany Creek Road, now presently bounded by Albany Creek, Beams Road and Bridgeman Road, in the 1860’s.

The 1950’s saw the subdivision of the original farmland with Brisbane City Council acquiring a portion in 1966 to establish the Pinaroo Lawn Cemetery. Originally marketed as an exclusive, peaceful and green residential enclave without schools and shopping centers, the suburb was designed to harness the urbanization of surrounding areas to meet commercial needs while providing large allotments and areas of green space.

Bridgeman Downs is an affordable northern suburb popular with a variety of residents looking for a spacious and peaceful suburban lifestyle without compromising on convenient access to a range of outstanding facilities and amenities.
