Parkwood is a suburb that offers access to countless facilities and amenities both within the suburb and across surrounding neighbourhoods including numerous parks, outdoor spaces and proximity to the Gold Coast Broadwater, Parkwood Village and Parkwood International Golf Course. In addition, Parkwood also offers a variety of retail options such as Arundel Plaza Shopping Centre, Parkland’s Plaza and a variety of boutique retail stores.

Whilst primarily a residential area Parkwood itself does not offer any educational institutions, however, the suburbs close proximity to neighbouring suburbs provide a large selection of options including Arundel State School, Pacific Pines State High School, Coombabah State High School. Southport State High School, Trinity P-12 Lutheran Collect and Griffith University in Southport.

Transport and Access

Bounded by Napper Road, Olsen Avenue, Smith Street Motorway and the Pacific Motorway, Parkwood offers a number of transport options including bus service and light rail services from the Parkwood East Light Rail Station whilst catering to easy commuter access to the suburb and surrounding areas of the Gold Coast.

More About Parkwood

Parkwood, a residential suburb on the Gold Coast, is three km north-west of Southport. It is bordered on its west by the Pacific Highway and the Gold Coast railway but not, unfortunately, by a railway station.

The suburb, dating from the 1980s, is entirely residential. Civic facilities are few, the exceptions being local shopping areas on Olsen Avenue and Napper Road, and the Parkwood International golf course.

Educational facilities are found outside Parkwood: Arundel primary school, Trinity P-12 Lutheran College in Ernest-Molendinar, and Southport high school, Catholic primary and secondary schools and Griffith University in Southport. Arundel Plaza Shopping centre, Napper Road, is just inside Parkwood’s northern boundary. Parkland’s Plaza, Olsen Avenue, is similarly positioned in the east.
