The Spring & Summer months in South-East Queensland often bring severe thunderstorms and other extreme weather conditions so it is important to prepare and plan for every scenario to protect yourselves and your property.
Energex has some helpful information regarding storm safety on their website.
Preparing for storms:
If there is damage to the property after a storm, ensure you take photos and document the damage for your records. Please notify our Agency of emergency maintenance on 0406 743 965, if non-urgent please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you require SES assistance during a flood or storm emergency, you can lodge your request for assistance online here. There is also an App available for both Apple and Android devices via iTunes and Google play. The App enables you to log a request for SES emergency assistance instead of phoning and waiting on hold during peak times.
If any branches have fallen over power lines, it is important to stay clear of the area and call Energex immediately on 13 19 62.
